Autumn Harvest

Autumn in the garden is as bountiful as the summer. We have an enormous amount of squash and I still haven’t harvested the vast amount of butternut that appear to be growing!

Lots of brassicas even if they are a bit ragged round the edges

Wheelbarrows of giant potatoes from the hugelkultur

The ever-delicious borlotti beans

And runner beans

Foraged mushrooms

Still getting aubergines, peppers and chillis from the polytunnel.

And the last of the tomatoes and cucumbers from the greenhouses

The sweetcorn hasn’t been brilliant as I let the young plants linger in tiny, dry pots for too long, but we have a few tiny cobs

Something ate the corn on the hugelkultur though

We also have fruit – pears (more on those later), lovely cooking and eating apples

The last of the raspberries and bizarrely some strawberries!
