Waiting

Elsie

A long day teaching in London followed by a night waiting for Elsie to kid.

I thought she was close to giving birth when I left yesterday as her ligaments had vanished, but I wasn’t sure. At 4pm today James said he thought she had entered the early stages of labour.

We have been checking on her every hour. Our friend (who is a very experienced shepherd) came round and checked and I spoke to the on-call vet.

We think it is still the early stages which can last for 12 hours. She seems fine. So I will check agin in a bit and then try and sleep for a couple of hours before checking again – looks like it will be a long night …….
