This is little zephi in a huge amount of pain. Yesterday while trying to wriggle through the top two bars of a hurdle (so he could say hello to a friend walking through the smallholding) he got stuck and dangled screaming by his back legs. I was just a few metres away preparing the goats for milking. By the time I got to him he had wriggled free but couldn’t put his back right leg down. We went straight to the vets. They gave him pain relief and said maybe it was a ruptured cruciate ligament. We went back today to talk about options and get more pain relief. He is in a lot of pain but is being very brave and stoical. He still won’t put his leg down. On Tuesday he’ll have an anaesthetic and x-rays and they’ll manipulate him some more to try and determine what’s wrong. If it is just the cruciate ligament then a very expensive operation (with no insurance) should fix him. If there are other complications or problems then this might not be possible. This is not very good at all. . . #poorlydog #zephi #wsd #cmfzeph
